Mineral Check is the simple way of checking your body’s mineral levels and toxins from an analysis of a hair sample. It is a clinically proven laboratory test, using a sample of hair sent to us at the laboratory.
A Mineral Check can help show up any hidden deficiencies before they cause problems and provide information that means a simple tweak in your diet or supplement regime can make a big difference to your overall health and well-being.
A hair analysis test will also show whether you have accumulated any toxic metals, for example mercury, or lead or perhaps aluminium.
Measuring the mineral content of your hair gives you a wealth of information about your levels of nutrients and their ratios and whether you are storing amy harmful substances in your body.
This simple test gives you a unique perspective on your health that would otherwise be hidden and this highly revealing test offers incredible value for money.
How does it work?
Hair is the ideal tissue for sampling and testing. The hair sample can be easily and painlessly obtained by a few simple snips rather than an invasive blood test. Most people won’t even notice that it has been done. For an ideal sample and to allow for the most accurate results, take the hair sample from the first inch and a half of growth closest to the scalp or at the nape of the neck. This also makes it simple and easy when testing children.
The sample can be taken at home and sent in the post with no need for a visit to the doctor or a laboratory.
Once the sample arrives at the laboratory it is prepared for testing by several specialised procedures and then the sample is placed in multiple test tubes. Special acids are then added that begin the breakdown or “digestion” of the hair. These acids combined with a high temperature environment will allow the separation of the elements contained within your hair protein. Once your hair is completely “digested” only the mineral salts remain. After being put into solution, the minerals are then analysed by highly sensitive and specialised instruments.
A Mineral Check is a very enlightening test. Clinical results have shown that a properly obtained sample can give an indication of mineral status and toxic metal accumulation following long term or acute exposure.
